With a combined FIFTY YEARS of experience in retail settings, both large and small, Meg & Darleen have done everything from visuals, inventory, hiring, firing, managing teams, sales training & beyond!

Our experience ranges from managing iconic stores like Diptyque (D.), Starbucks (M.), J.Crew (D.), Lululemon (M.), and the MoMA Design Store (D.) to local, boutique-style companies like Cleveland Yoga (Meg) and a zillion local establishments all over NYC & Detroit (Darleen).

Meg is a Leo, an enneagram 8 with a 7 wing, and has a degree in Business Management. She’s a life & business coach as well as a brand photographer with 20 years of retail experience through her teens, 20’s, and 30’s. Her favorite thing about retail is the endless creative possibilities and how fun it is to create and execute big sales goals.

DARLEEN (“BLUE”) HALL | Visual Stylist & Management Consultant

Darleen is a Gemini, an enneagram 8 with a 9 wing, and a master’s in Creative Writing. She’s a retail manager and design fanatic with 30+ years of retail experience in her teens, 20’s, 30’s, and 40’s. Her favorite thing about retail is the community created amongst a team and connecting with customers to create loyal fans.

  • This depends on the plan we all make together at the start of the project and what skills are most needed to reach our goals. Darleen tends to take the lead when it comes to store management, styling, and inventory, while Meg jumps in with creative support for social media/marketing and sales training. Hiring/firing consulting are both. We like to host the initial Vision Session together so we can make a plan that feels exciting for you and decide what needs to get done.

  • Neither of us have restaurant or bar experience but that’s the only area we aren’t comfortable when it comes to small businesses. We love and have worked for yoga/fitness/wellness boutiques as well as coffee/tea shops, bookstores, and every style of home goods, lifestyle products, and apparel.

  • Biz Besties is a package Meg sells for service-based, online, businesses (12 sessions over 3 months) where you fully customize the goals and use the time in whatever ways are most supportive. This is simply the Brick & Mortar edition! The Classic Package is 12 hours of support over 4 weeks (3 hours a week) or 6 weeks (2 hours a week). This allows for implementation and creativity as we work together towards your current business goals. Because this is a new offshoot of The Six Figs Brand, the rates are $150 an hour for 12 hours ($1,800 in 2 installments of $900). The flow is typically a 90-minute Vision Session to kickoff the project in person or via Zoom followed by a work plan that we’ll lay out together for 4-6 weeks with 1-3 clear objectives.

  • An example project would be deciding you want to formalize your inventory process. We come in, create the process for you or up-level the one you have, train you & your team, and then do your first count together! Another example would be doing a complete visual overhaul of your store. We would create the vision with you and then execute with your team while training them on best practices along the way. We’ve also worked with business owners on building an employee handbook, creating an onboarding process, hiring new team members, and off-boarding those who need to be coached out. Anything you are feeling overwhelmed with currently in your Brick and Mortar can be solved with your brain and this retail Dynamic Duo!

  • We can do that! We would act as independent contractors/consultants who collaborate with your business long-term. Long-term, for us, is 12 months at a time with an assessment and re-evaluation every 3 months to make sure we are working well together, efficient in our process, and reaching benchmark goals. A 6 month contract would start at 24 hours (2 Biz Bestie Packages) and would be discounted at 10% due to the extended commitment you would be making. A 12 month contract would, obviously, start at 48 hours (4 Biz Bestie Packages). In essence, working with us for 6 months would start at $3,600 minus $360 and working with us for 1 year would start at $7,200 minus $720. For those who desire more support than 12 hours a quarter, we can add additional hours and discount appropriately.

  • We work with you and your team as consultants to execute projects so the work we do is always within the hours you’ve purchased. If the project actions fall outside the scope or take extensive time then it’s best to have yourself or your team take on the bulk of that work to keep costs down. We act as planners, trainers, project managers, creatives, and a sounding board every step of the way so that you feel fully supported.

DEEP DIVE

This is a 3-Hour Consulting Session where we get together and create a plan, make big decisions, and/or solve one big problem! It’s $500. *Follow-up call included for 1-4 weeks later

BIZ BESTIE CLASSIC

This is 12 Biz Bestie sessions (one hour each) to be used over 4-6 weeks to create and execute upon a chosen plan. It’s $1,800 paid in two installments.

BIZ BESTIE VIP PARTNERSHIP

This is either a 6 month or 12 month commitment with Voxer support in between sessions. It starts between 4K and 7K depending on length and scope.
